The Heart
Behind
Aeternitas
From the Streets of Tondo to a Vision of Comfort
Aeternitas is more than a luxury columbarium. It is a story of resilience, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to serving others. Behind it is Orly Francisco, a self-made entrepreneur who grew up in Pritil, Tondo, in a family of eight children.
At just seven years old, Orly was already selling candies, fruits, and shining shoes to help support his family. By the age of twelve, he had saved ₱50,000 through hard work and determination. These early experiences shaped his strong work ethic and purpose: to build something meaningful not just for himself, but for others.
Building
a Life of
Service
In the early 1980s, while working in Saudi Arabia, Orly saw the challenges Filipinos faced when sending money home. He started a remittance business that became a trusted lifeline for Overseas Filipino Workers. The success of this venture allowed him to invest in real estate back in the Philippines.
One of those properties would later become the foundation for Aeternitas.
A Vision
Born from
Compassion
Orly understood how difficult it was for grieving families to handle funeral arrangements while coping with loss. He believed there had to be a better, more compassionate way. Aeternitas began as a vision to ease that burden by providing a serene, respectful, and supportive environment where families could mourn with dignity.
The name “Aeternitas,” which means “eternity” in Latin, was suggested by his friend Fr. Gerry Tapiador. It perfectly reflected Orly’s desire to create a lasting and comforting place of remembrance.
Redefining Funeral
Care in the
Philippines
In 2023, Aeternitas opened its doors at Batasan Hills, Commonwealth Avenue, QC, beside St. Peter Parish Church. This nine-story columbarium complex was designed to feel like a place of comfort, not sorrow. It features family-friendly chapels with private bedrooms, kitchenettes, smart TVs, and butler services. Guests also have access to grief support, a café lounge, and a calming garden lobby.
Orly’s guiding belief is simple: “Iiyak ka na lang.” Families should be free to grieve, while his team takes care of everything else.
Legacy
with a
Heart
Aeternitas is the first of its kind in the country. It marks a shift in the way we care for the departed, offering dignity and ease to those left behind. For Orly Francisco, this is more than a business. It is a legacy built from experience, empathy, and a deep desire to serve.
What started in the streets of Tondo has grown into a place that brings peace and care to others. This is how Aeternitas came to be — and why it will continue to make a difference in the lives of many.
